1952年、岡本太郎はモザイクタイルで『ダンス』を制作します。一点ものの油彩とちがってタイルなら何枚でもつくれるし屋外にも置ける。そうすれば芸術がもっと社会に入っていける。そう考えたのです。まさしくそれは岡本太郎の芸術思想を体現するものでした。
