会津坂下町出身の斎藤清（1907-1997）は、戦後日本を代表する版画家のひとりです。優れた構成力と色彩感覚、また独自のマチエールによるその版画は、国内外で高い評価を受けました。日本版画史における斎藤の足跡を、当館ほか、やないづ町立斎藤清美術館や神奈川県立近代美術館など、ゆかりの深い美術館の所蔵品により検証します。
