ピエール=オーギュスト・ルノワール

ピエール=オーギュスト・ルノワール（1841-1919）は、フランス印象派の画家です。人物画、特に女性や子供の肖像で知られ、柔らかな光と豊かな色彩で幸福感あふれる場面を描きました。陶器の絵付け職人として出発し、やがてモネらと印象派運動を牽引。「ムーラン・ド・ラ・ギャレット」など、パリの人々の楽しげな日常を捉えた作品は、印象派の精神を体現しています。晩年はリウマチに苦しみながらも筆を握り続け、温かみのある肌の表現と喜びに満ちた世界を描き続けました。

ルノワールは、アルフレッド・シスレー、フレデリック・バジール、クロード・モネらと共にシャルル・グレールの下で学び、印象派の形成に貢献しました。
オーギュスト・クロットは、ピエール・ボナール、ポール・セザンヌ、エドヴァルド・ムンクなど、多くの芸術家と協力したことで知られるフランスの印刷業者でした。
アンブロワーズ・ヴォラールは1895年にピエール・ボナールの「パリの生活のある側面」をクロットの工房で制作しました。
アンブロワーズ・ヴォラールは1866年7月3日にレユニオン島のサン＝ドニで生まれました。
オーギュスト・クロットは1936年3月に77歳でヴィルヌーヴ＝サン＝ジョルジュで亡くなりました。
アンブロワーズ・ヴォラールは、ピカソの「ヴォラール・スイート」の制作を依頼し、100点の版画集が制作されました。
晩年、ルノワールはリウマチ性関節炎を患いながらも、絵を描き続けました。
