近代文人画の巨匠・富岡鉄斎(1836～1924）は、若い頃より煎茶をよくし、志士や文人墨客と交流する中でその理解を深めていきました。中国唐代の茶聖・陸羽、廬仝、宋代の蘇東坡はもとより、日本の煎茶中興の祖・売茶翁高遊外らが掲げた文人茶の精神にあこがれ、生涯にわたって煎茶と煎茶文化にまつわる作品を数多く遺しています。晩年には、名工たちとの合作によって、売茶翁が所持していた煎茶具の復元を実現し、自娯としました。 本展覧会では、《煎茶皆具》一具として揃えられた道具類をはじめ、「鉄斎の器玩」といわれる工芸品を紹介します。鉄斎が理想とした清風のこころを、新春を彩る書画の名品とともにお楽しみください。
