開館45周年記念「蓮月と鉄斎」

幕末から明治初めの尼僧・歌人・陶芸家として知られる大田垣蓮月（1791～1875）。その慈悲深く謙遜な人柄に接して大きな感化を受けたのが、若き日の富岡鉄斎（1836～1924）でした。手づくねの茶器などに自詠の和歌を彫りつけた蓮月焼を生活の糧とする尼の手助けをしながら、鉄斎は歌と書と土の世界に親しみました。本展では、蓮月が和歌を揮毫し、鉄斎が画を描いた合作《奴図》、《秋草図》などを中心に、蓮月作《陶瓢》、《秋草図煎茶碗・茶碗筒》など鉄斎遺愛の蓮月焼もご覧いただきます。
