About this exhibition
近代文人画の巨匠富岡鉄斎（１８３６～１９２４）は墨色の濃淡、潤滑を自在に用い、表情豊かな水墨画を数多く描いています。「墨を選んで苦心、墨顛（墨に心を奪われる人）となる」というほど書画に適した上質な墨にこだわり、伝来をもつさまざまな和墨・唐墨をもとめ、画題に応じて選びました。本展では愛蔵の文房具とともに、鉄斎の墨と筆法へのこだわりが窺える水墨画の名品―筆墨の妙―をお楽しみください。
