About this exhibition
近代文人画の巨匠と謳われる富岡鉄斎（1836～1924）は大正13年（1924）12月31日、数え89歳で没しますが、同年夏頃から自身の健康を喜びますますの長寿を願って、作品に「九十翁」あるいは「九十叟(そう)」などと自署しました。最晩年を示すこれらの落款は「九十落款」といわれ、老年を感じさせない雄渾な筆致と融通無碍な墨色、鮮やかな彩色が高く評されています。没後100年を迎える本年、九十歳の落款を有する最晩年の名品を通して、鉄斎が至った自在の境地をご堪能ください。※この展覧会は2021年に開催中止した「鉄斎の九十歳落款」展を再開催するものです。
