【小企画展】鉄斎―新春を彩る吉祥画―

日本では元旦を迎えるたびに一歳ずつ加齢する数え年による年齢計算が昭和初期頃まで主流であったことから、一斉に新たな年齢を迎える正月には長寿や繁栄を願うおめでたい吉祥画が床を彩りました。日本最後の文人と謳われる富岡鉄斎もまた、年を重ねることを慶び、新春を祝う吉祥画を数多く描き、知友に贈っています。本展では子孫繁栄、立身出世、不老長寿等の寓意が込められた色彩豊かな花鳥画や理想郷を描いた《蓬莱仙境図》、ユーモア溢れる《七福遊戯図》を紹介し、新春を彩ります。
