Museum official page: www.nezu-muse.or.jp:80/jp/exhibition ↗松と竹と梅とを組み合わせて、祝儀のデザインとして用いるようになったのは、室町時代以後のことです。しかし、松・竹・梅は、それ以前から日本人の文化や生活にかかわってきました。松の風格ある幹や枝ぶり、常に緑深い葉などに、ひとびとは神秘的な力を見出し、青々とまっすぐで、凛とした姿の竹にも、霊性があると考えました。また、花のない時期に、老木から生命が再生するように可憐な花を咲かせる梅にも不可思議な力を感じとったのです。松・竹・梅を単独に、あるいは組み合わせて描いた絵画や、それらをデザインした工芸品に込められた、長寿の願いや祝意を感じ取っていただければ幸いです。
