全国各地からの要望に応え、国立西洋美術館松方コレクションの第一回巡回展として松方幸次郎にゆかりの深い神戸で開催。モネ《睡蓮》をはじめとする絵画、彫刻など約70点で構成。以降、「松方コレクション展」は1977年までの間に全国21道府県において23回実施された。
