ドイツ・ケルン市にあるヴァルラフ＝リヒャルツ美術館・コルブー財団は、約7万点のコレクションを誇る、ドイツ有数の美術館です。本展では、とりわけ優れた質と量を誇る印象派とその前後の作品70点が来日します。本展では、印象派をめぐる42名の画家たちの作品を通して、近代絵画の歴史における革新と、その世代を超えたつながりを感じていただけるでしょう。
