レアンドロ・エルリッヒは、国際的に活躍するアルゼンチン出身の現代アーティストで、日本では金沢21世紀美術館に恒久設置された《スイミング・プール》の作家としても知られています。大型のインスタレーションから映像まで、エルリッヒの作品は視覚的な錯覚や音の効果を用いて、わたしたちの常識に揺さぶりをかけます。一見どこにでもある見慣れた風景ですが、よく見ると、水がないのに舟が浮かんでいたり、人々がさまざまなポーズで壁に張り付いていたり、その異様な光景に観客は驚きと違和感を覚えることでしょう。
