古くから身近な存在である「鳥」は、日本の文化を育んできました。江戸時代には鳥がブームとなり、将軍から庶民まで鳥料理を楽しみ、珍しい鳥に驚嘆し、鳴き声の美しさを競い合いました。本展では、鵜飼や鷹狩など鳥と生きる暮らし、鳥文様、魅惑的な羽色に由来する色、鳥の瞳から見える景色など、日本文化を縦横無尽に翔ける野鳥の軌跡を歌川広重の作品とともに辿ります。
