黄、むらさき、ピンク、緑、オレンジ、青、そして黒―― 作品から放たれる鮮明な色たち、ヴィヴィットではっきりとした配色は、洋画家・中村研一（1895-1967）の戦後作品の特徴といえます。本展では中村が小金井に拠点を移してから制作された作品を中心に、中村の「色」に焦点をあてた展示をご覧いただきます。戦前、戦中とは異なる、戦後の色調の変化を通して、中村研一の内なる変化の現れを垣間見ていただければ幸いです。
