勝川春章(1726？～1792)は人気の歌舞伎役者や力士たちを、似顔絵を用いた写実的な作風で描き、一世を風靡した浮世絵師です。本展は、勝川春章の版画を中心とした名品を展観するとともに、同時代を生きた絵師たちや勝川派の門下、北斎や写楽といった春章が影響を与えた絵師たちの作品を幅広く紹介し、春章の画業と生涯に迫ります。
