ドイツ系スイス人 故 ウーゴ・アルフォンス・カザール氏（Ugo Alfons Casal, 1888 – 1964）が蒐集したコレクションの中から、装身具－根付と印籠－を紹介します。根付は腰帯に掛けるための留め具として、印籠は携帯用の容器の一種として、近世以降、人びとに重宝がられました。一連の作品は、カザール氏が明治末年（1912）に来日してから集めた、日本・東洋の美術工芸品の一部です。
