本展覧会では、国立西洋美術館のコレクションに基づいて、初期から晩年に至るカロの作品を、年代と主題というふたつの切り口からご紹介します。カロの活動の軌跡をたどりつつ、リアリズムと奇想が共演するその版画世界をご覧いただきます。さらに、作品を通して、当時の芸術的潮流や社会の諸相に対するカロの姿勢を探っていくことも、この展覧会の狙いです。
