日本民藝館の改修を記念した特別展の第二弾。バーナード・リーチ、河井寬次郎、濱田庄司、芹沢銈介、棟方志功といった、創設者・柳宗悦と親交の深かった近代工芸の巨匠たちの代表作を中心に展示。民藝運動の胎動から成熟の時代を振り返る。
It will be held from July 6 to September 23, 2021.
It will be held on the 1st and 2nd floors of the main building of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum.
The exhibition will primarily feature masterpieces by modern craft masters such as Bernard Leach, Kawai Kanjiro, Hamada Shoji, Serizawa Keisuke, and Munakata Shiko.
Commemorating the renovation of the Japan Folk Crafts Museum, this exhibition looks back at the Mingei movement from its inception to its maturity.
Works by Bernard Leach, Kawai Kanjiro, Hamada Shoji, Serizawa Keisuke, Munakata Shiko, Tomimoto Kenkichi, Kuroda Tatsuaki, Funaki Michitada, Funaki Kenji, and Kinjo Jiro will be exhibited.
