紀元二千六百年奉祝美術展覧会に出展された中村研一の戦前期代表作《北京官話》を、新収蔵を記念して公開。新型コロナウイルス感染拡大により中止となった記念展示を拡充し、日本近代洋画壇における「民族服の女性像」の系譜の中で、中村が追及した「ほんとうのフォルム」を概観。さまざまな人物を描いた油彩画や素描、水彩画など幅広く展示する。
