ABOUT
2000年、故郷の西脇で、横尾忠則は夜の三叉路をストロボ撮影しました。すると見慣れたはずの景色が、全く異なる風景となって立ち現れたのです。この写真からインスピレーションを得た横尾は「Ｙ字路」シリーズに着手、それらはやがて彼にとって重要なライフワークとなっていきます。内省的な光と闇の世界は、祝祭的な色彩の爆発を経て、さらに変幻自在なバリエーションを生み出しつつ今日に至っています。2015年、当館では2006〜2015年の作品による「横尾忠則 続・Y字路」を開催しました。本展はいわばそれを補完するもので、シリーズの原点である初期作品（2000〜2005年）、および新近作（2016年〜）により、多彩な「Y字路」シリーズの魅力に迫ります。
