豊橋市制施行120周年記念 うずら －吉兆を叫ぶ鳥－

ABOUT

豊橋を象徴する鳥・うずらを多様な視点からトリあげます！キジ科で一番小さい鳥であるウズラは、古くから人間と関わりの深い鳥です。日本では草深い場所にたくさんウズラが生息していたことから、ウズラと深草を合わせた歌が多く詠まれました。中国では安らかさを表す吉兆のシンボルとされ、多くの鶉図が描かれました。鶉図は日本にも持ち込まれ、粟の穂など秋の草花と合わせた画題が好まれました。また、鳴き声が「御吉兆」と聞こえることから縁起の良い鳥とされました。本展ではウズラをテーマとする和歌や絵画・工芸作品、豊橋で盛んになった養鶉の歴史を通して、人とウズラの関わりを紹介します。
