本展は、その授翁の六百五十年遠諱(おんき)を記念して企画いたしました。妙心寺の歴史や、禅宗美術、桃山絵画などの日本美術の白眉ともいうべき妙心寺の至宝を通じて、関山から授翁を経て、現代の我々へ引き継がれた妙心寺の禅の系譜をみていきます。また、地元大阪の妙心寺派寺院で行われている最新の寺宝調査の成果もあわせて紹介する予定です。
