来る令和5年（2023）は、弘法大師空海（774～835）のご誕生1250年という大きな節目にあたります。本展はこれを記念し、空海が開いた高野山金剛峯寺の名宝約40件を選りすぐって紹介するものです。唐へ渡り、密教の正統を受け継いだ空海は、弘仁7年（816）、密教の奥義を究める修行の道場として、嵯峨天皇より勅許を得て高野山を開きました。
