本展では、川端・東山それぞれが収集した美術品を紹介しその審美眼を探るとともに、数々の東山作品も一同に展示することで、二人の巨匠の交流の軌跡をたどり、追求した美の世界に迫ります。また、近年川端邸で新たに発見された、名作『伊豆の踊子』のモデルとなった初恋の人・伊藤初代宛の未投函書簡や、夏目漱石・太宰治・三島由紀夫など文豪の書も公開します。
