名刀が美しい輝きを放っているのは、鍛刀されてから今日に至るまでの数百年の間、絶えず日本刀を守り、磨き続けていた人々の手があったからです。本展では、日本有数の刀剣コレクションを誇る佐野美術館の収蔵品から平安時代から江戸時代にかけての国宝・重要文化財に指定されている刀剣、刀装具、約100点を展示します。なかでも国宝「太刀 銘 一」は、実に36年ぶりに愛媛で展示されます。
