本展では、ロシア美術の殿堂・国立トレチャコフ美術館のコレクションより、帝政が破綻に向かい革命を迎える激動のロシアで19世紀後半から20世紀初頭に活躍した、クラムスコイやシーシキン、レヴィタン、レーピンなどの作品72点を、「ロマンティックな風景」「ロシアの人々」「子供の世界」「都市と生活」の4章構成で紹介します。ロシア的なロマンに思いを馳せながら、近くて遠い彼の国の自然、風土、文化、人物の感動的な美しさに触れられる稀有な展覧会。東京、岡山、山形を経て、この秋いよいよ最後の開催地である愛媛に巡回します。
