世界最高水準の日本美術コレクションを誇るボストン美術館所蔵品の武者絵と秘蔵の刀剣が里帰りするボストン美術館所蔵「THE HEROES 刀剣×浮世絵－武者たちの物語」を2022年1月21日（金）～3月25日（金）の期間で開催します。武者絵は『平家物語』のような軍記物語や、武勇伝説に登場する英雄（ヒーロー）を描いた絵のことを言い、江戸時代には武者たちを描いた浮世絵が、人々の人気を博しました。本展では、世界有数の浮世絵コレクションで知られるボストン美術館の所蔵品から、菱川師宣、北尾政美、歌川国貞、歌川国芳、歌川広重、月岡芳年など、有名絵師のクールで迫力のある武者絵118点を物語の時代に沿って、ご紹介します。
