多様な文化や芸術が花開いた宋時代から、モンゴル民族の元時代までのおよそ400年間に渡り、中国各地の窯で個性的な陶磁器が産み出されました。洗練された定窯の白磁、多彩な磁州窯の装飾技法、翠青色が美しい龍泉窯の青磁、幻想的な趣のある鈞窯の澱青釉、白い地を埋めるように複雑な文様を描いた景徳鎮窯の元時代の青花。本展では、宋時代から元時代に五つの窯で製作された時代を代表するやきものを館蔵の名品でたどります。鮮やかな釉薬の色や神秘的な艶、さまざまな装飾技法、当時の人々が追い求めた美をご紹介します。
