代表作『ゲゲゲの鬼太郎』をはじめ多くの妖怪作品を生み出した水木しげる（1922─2015）は、「妖怪」という言葉が一般に広がるきっかけを作ったのみならず、その後も長きにわたり妖怪ブームの原動力となってきました。2022年の生誕100周年を機に企画された本展は、これまで開催されてきた数ある水木しげる展の中でも初めて、妖怪画が作られる具体的手法に注目した展覧会です。水木が手がけた妖怪画の原画約100点を中心に、作家が所蔵し参考としていた書籍、関連資料ほか、妖怪文化人の系譜と著作をあわせて紹介します。子どもから大人まで幅広い世代の人々に支持され、今もなお多くのファンを魅了し続けている水木しげるの妖怪ワールドを、ぜひ堪能ください。
