About this exhibition
吉田璋也（1898～1972）は、1931年より時代の要請に即したものをデザイン、プロデュースする活動を鳥取で始めました。木工でまず着手したのは電気スタンドの制作でした。「和紙を通してくる穏やかな光を部屋に漂わせるか」ということを考えて、国内外の灯具や本を参考にして工夫、改良して生み出し、現在では鳥取民藝を代表する作品の一つとなっています。今展では灯具と灯りが映し出す美しい暮らしの道具を紹介いたします。
