もはや、「良い天気」は「悪い天気」ではないかと思われるほど亜熱帯化が進んでいる日本列島。本展では、その暑さを忘れさせてくれる（かもしれない）涼感豊かな作品を、様々なジャンルから紹介した。絵の中の登場人物になりきって涼しさを満喫したり、作品の色やかたち、質感から冷たさを感じたり…。最後のコーナーは「異界への旅」とし、「ゾクッ！ぶるっ！」とする作品を展示。暑い夏こそ輝きを増す、ひんやりとした美の世界を展開した。また、鑑賞の一助として本展を会場にワークショップ「美術館クイズ探検」と「ママパパ鑑賞応援デー」を開催し、未就学児や小中学生、その保護者に大変好評であった。
