今回の展覧会は、写真集『音のない記憶』の収録イメージを紹介し、それぞれ一回目のものか二回目のものか、さらには撮影地など、可能な限り特定する初めての試みです。植田の遺したいわば「追憶のイメージ」の断片をたどりながら、この写真集のメランコリックであり、ノスタルジックな魅力を感じとっていただけることでしょう。砂丘でもなく、山陰でもない写真に、植田がどうしてこれほどまでにこだわったのか、植田正治による植田正治のための最初の写真集『音のない記憶』の検証を続けることによって、植田の傾けた情熱、さらには「写真すること」の意味を浮き彫りにします。
