今回の展覧会のテーマは、「昭和」です。懐古趣味、あるいはレトロブームとして語られることが多いのですが、1926年から1989年という60年以上におよぶ時代は、植田正治（1913－2000）の写歴、そして写真やカメラの発展の過程と密接にオーバーラップしています。
