植田正治がはじめてカメラを買ってもらったのは1928（昭和3）年、15歳の時です。シャッターを押せば、目の前の光景を瞬時にフィルムに焼き付けられる、魔法のような小箱に植田は感動と喜びを感じ、それから70年以上もの間、魅了され続けたのです。植田にとっては、憧れと幸せをもたらしてくれる「夢見るカメラ」だったのでしょう。
