1995 年から 1997 年の 3 年間にわたり、雑誌『アサヒカメラ』に写真とエッセイで連載されたシリーズ〈印籠カメラ〉は、 35 ㎜コンパクトカメラ（ペンタックスのエスピオ ミニと、フジのカルディアミニ ティアラ）で撮影されたものです。植田正治は日常気軽に持ち歩き、すぐに取り出してシャッターを切れることから、これらを「印籠カメラ」とユーモアを込めて呼び、この時期愛用したのです。今回の展覧会では、〈印籠カメラ〉のシリーズをエッセイとともに紹介し、 1990 年代に撮影された作品の数々もあわせて展示します。
