植田正治の写真集の中に、『童暦（わらべごよみ）』や『子供の四季』といった季節を強く意識したタイトルがあります。生涯にわたり山陰の子供たち、人や風土を被写体にしてきた植田にとって、季節は確かに重要です。しかし、植田は単に季節感を強調するのではなく、被写体とともにゆるやかに流れゆく時間、そして季節の変化を感じながら、「写真すること」を楽しんだのでしょう。
