《紅樓夢》是在追憶，追憶著盛清時期的貴族世家，富貴繁榮的似水年華。小說裡瀰漫著，作者曹雪芹（約1716-1763）對於往事的痴迷與回望，以及一聲一聲對於盛極而衰、家族敗落的嘆息。展覽以《紅樓夢》為題，以國立故宮博物院、國家圖書館及國立臺灣大學圖書館藏品為材，以「物」來讀小說，將帶領我們看見那段消逝的年華，看見《紅樓夢》的絕美與哀戚。
