愛媛県四国中央市出身の写真家・白川義員（1935-2022 ）は、世界各地の荘厳な大自然を被写体とし、 長年発表を続けました。「アルプス」「ヒマラヤ」「アメリカ大陸」「聖書の世界」「中国大陸」 「神々の原風景」「仏教伝来」「南極大陸」「世界百名山」「世界百名瀑」「永遠の日本」に続く、 全12シリーズの集大成であり、また最期のシリーズとなったのが今回展示する「天地創造」です。 近年注目されるアメリカの景勝地「ザ・ウェーブ」やボリビアのウユニ塩湖他最晩年の作品も含め、 およそ50年にわたり撮影した作品の中から作家本人が選んだ196点を紹介します。
