2015年11月30日、93歳で「あの世」へ旅立った水木しげる。「ゲゲゲの鬼太郎」「悪魔くん」「河童の三平」など、数多くのヒット作を生み出した漫画家としてだけでなく、作品を通じて妖怪文化を広めた妖怪研究家としても高く評価されました。本展では、水木プロダクションの全面的な協力のもと、人間・水木しげるが遺したものを徹底的に振り返ります。少年期の習作、戦地で描いたスケッチ、貸本時代からの貴重な漫画や妖怪画の原稿など、卓越した画力とメッセージ性がうかがえる作品の数々に加え、エッセイ原稿や妖怪・精霊像コレクション、私物などを合計約390点を展示します。
