本展は、米山生誕200年という大きな節目に、見る者を圧倒し、驚かせるその唯一無二の作品を一堂に紹介するものです。今日の米山評価を決定的なものとした大阪の実業家・山本發(はつ)次郎（1887～1951）の収集品（大阪中之島美術館所蔵）が31年ぶりに松山にまとまって里帰りするのをはじめ、県内外に伝わる代表作の数々、神名石(しんめいせき)・ 注連石(しめいし)の拓本、幟などを通して、米山芸術の尽きない魅力に触れていただく機会となれば幸いです。
