本県西条市出身の日本画家・高橋周桑(1900-64)は、速水御舟の数少ない内弟子として、戦前は院展で活動、さらに戦後は新しい日本画創造を目指して「創造美術」結成に携わりました。その夢幻的な画境は、偉大な師・御舟の影響を乗り越えて到達したものです。没後 60 年の節目に、当館のコレクションを一堂に公開します。
