長い冬が終わると、太陽が出る時間が長くなる。雪が溶けると、新緑が芽吹き、花のつぼみがほころぶ。陽が差して明るくなり、外に出る機会も多くなる。桃の節句や花見の季節の到来である。花が見えるのは戸外だけではない。美術館にも花を描いた作品がたくさんある。細部まで再現された花もあれば、装飾としての花もある。本展では、美術館で花の季節を楽しんでもらえるように花をモチーフにした作品を中心に紹介した。
