About this exhibition
1920年代にシュルレアリスムの影響下に自ら詩作を始め、1930年代から戦後にかけて、ポール・セザンヌから同時代に至る美術についての思索と著述を重ねていく瀧口の歩みは、「書く」営みに貫かれたものです。その瀧口が1960年に本格的に試みるようになるのが、自身で「デッサン」と称する造形作品の制作です。「書く」ことを通じて世界と対峙してきた瀧口において、「描く」こととはいかなる行為であったのか。本展は、詩作から美術批評、展覧会の企画や他の作家との交流など、瀧口の活動全体を視野に収めながら、多様な実験的技法による瀧口作品と、パウル・クレーやマルセル・デュシャン、ジョアン・ミロをはじめとする関連作家の作品、あわせて約140点の展観を通して、この問いを再考するものです。
