Spyridon Romas

Born in Corfu around 1724, he was a key figure of the Heptanese School, blending Byzantine tradition with Italian Renaissance influences.¹

He moved to London around 1770, a bold move for a Greek artist to establish a career in one of Europe's major art centers at the time.¹

He regularly exhibited his works at the Royal Academy and the Free Society of Artists between the 1770s and 1780s.¹

He passed away in London in 1786, after which his collection and restored works were auctioned, drawing significant attention.¹
