セザンヌの父ルイ＝オーギュストは銀行家であり、当初は息子の芸術家としての道を反対していましたが、後に支援しました。
カミーユ・ピサロはセザンヌより10歳年上で、印象派の画家としてセザンヌに影響を与え、共同で風景画制作を行いました。
