カミーユ・ピサロ（1830-1903）は、デンマーク領ヴァージン諸島出身のフランス印象派画家です。印象派展全8回すべてに参加した唯一の画家であり、若い画家たちの精神的支柱でした。 農村の風景と働く人々を好んで描き、「農民画家」とも呼ばれました。晩年には点描技法にも取り組み、常に新しい表現を模索し続けました。 セザンヌやゴーギャンの師としても知られ、その温かい人柄と芸術への誠実さは多くの後進を育てました。

- ピサロは1874年から1886年まで、8回のパリ印象派展すべてに出品した唯一の画家です。
- ピサロは「印象派の巨匠」と呼ばれ、その賢明で温厚な人柄で知られていました。
Style & Technique
- ピサロは、自然の美しさをありのままに表現することに重点を置き、人工的で壮大な表現を避けました。
- ピサロは、都市の通りやモンマルトルなどの街並みも、光や大気の効果を捉えながら描きました。
- 晩年には、色彩の鮮やかさを高めるために、ネオ・インプレッショニズム的な点描技法を取り入れました。
