Explore still life through the lens of Tacita Dean, one of the genre's leading contemporary practitioners Curated by Dean and guided by her own understanding of the genre, 'STILL LIFE' presents a diverse selection of works in a variety of mediums. Works by the artist herself – including a new film diptych made especially for the exhibition, 'Ideas for Sculpture in a Setting', and 'Prisoner Pair' (2008, 16mm) – feature alongside works by Dean's contemporaries, including Thomas Demand, Roni Horn, and Wolfgang Tillmans, and paintings from the National Gallery Collection, such as Zurbarán’s Cup of Water and a Rose . ナショナル・ギャラリー は、イギリスのロンドン、トラファルガー広場に位置する美術館。日本語では国立美術館とも訳される。1824年に設立され、13世紀半ばから1900年までの作品2,300点以上を所蔵している。そのコレクションは大衆に広く公開されており、特別な企画展示をのぞいて入館は無料となっている。ただし、維持管理費用の一部を寄付でまかなうため、寄付を募る箱が入り口ほか数カ所に設けられている。
