絣（かすり）は、染め分けた糸を織り合わせて模様を生み出す織物です。白と紺の濃淡が織りなす幾何学文や吉祥文は、着物や布団地として庶民に寄り添い暮らしを彩ってきました。柳宗悦は、その精緻な工程に人為を超えた美を見出し、「その手法は美しい夢を産んでくれる」と評しました。本展では、絣に魅せられた村穂久美雄氏が鳥取県西部で蒐集した弓浜絣を中心にご紹介します。
