「中庭展示 ― Court Installation」は、当館の中庭スペースを活用したインスタレーションを紹介するシリーズ企画です。第22回目となる今回は、自然や生命の循環、縄文遺物などから着想を得た作品を手がける森迫暁夫の新作をご覧いただきます。太古の記憶を彷彿とさせる「ヤグラ」を基軸とした本作は、使われなくなった日用品や海岸に辿り着いた漂着物によって構成されます。中庭の回廊を彩る土偶を想起させる立体作品とあいまって、会場は祝祭的なエネルギーに満たされることでしょう。作者に見出されたオブジェないし森迫の言葉を借りるならば現代社会において「ゴミ」として位置づけられる不用品が、作家の想像力によって新たな命を宿すとき、私たちは各々に潜在する根源的な「縄文の視点」に気づかされるかもしれません。森迫の独創的な作品世界を、この機会にぜひお楽しみください。
