About this exhibition
山鉾町のほぼ中心に位置する染・清流館での「祇園祭展」が、祇園囃子が聞こえるこの時期の展覧会として、今年で11回目を迎える事となりました。染織作家それぞれが、歩いた、見た、感じた、楽しんだ祇園祭への思いの中で、いろいろな創造と試みが生まれ、祇園祭の新たな発見と興味へと繋がり、自分なりの祇園祭の中に漕ぎ出されたのではないかと思います。この「祇園祭展」がご覧頂く皆様のこの時期の楽しみの一つとして、また制作する作家の側にも、創作の大きな契機として定着してきたのではないかと思っています。
